Published reporting has linked Clio to Oleg Deripaska. That historical attribution does not establish who owns the yacht today. The builder still presents it under the name Clio, while a current registry name and present beneficial owner have not been verified for this article. Lürssen, OCCRP Russian Asset Tracker
Which yacht is linked to Deripaska?
Lürssen describes Clio as a yacht delivered in 2004, measuring approximately 73 metres, and originally named Queen M. It credits Espen Øino with the exterior design and Donald Starkey with the interior. These are the builder’s specifications. The builder page does not identify an owner or provide the dates of later registered name changes. Lürssen, “About” and original-name caption
Names alone are insufficient to establish a yacht’s identity through changes of flag or ownership. A ship’s IMO number is designed to remain with the same ship through those changes. It identifies the vessel, rather than establishing the person who controls it. International Maritime Organization
What supports the ownership link?
OCCRP’s Russian Asset Tracker identifies Waleforce Yachting Limited in Cyprus in its ownership account. It traces the reported link to Deripaska through Tangril Entities Limited, a British Virgin Islands company subsequently renamed Avante Management Corp. This is an investigative attribution to a corporate chain; it should be read with its source limitations. OCCRP, Clio asset record
The public asset page does not provide a publication or update date, the underlying registry extracts, or an effective interval for each ownership relationship. It therefore supports describing a reported link, but cannot establish beneficial ownership on 10 October 2026. A company named in a historical ownership chain may also differ from a current title holder. The corporate chain and its continuity need fresh documentary confirmation before we identify a present owner. OCCRP asset record and its published ownership account
Does the evidence establish ownership today?
Our review does not establish that Deripaska currently owns or controls this yacht. We retain Clio as the builder’s display name, rather than treating it as a verified current registry name. Current naming, legal title and beneficial ownership are separate questions, each requiring its own dated evidence.
A current flag-registry extract would help establish the registered name and title holder. Corporate or court records would then be needed to support any claim about the person exercising ultimate ownership or control. A manufacturer page and a historical investigative report cannot supply that entire chain.
About this review
Reviewed on 10 October 2026. We distinguish builder specifications, investigative attribution and facts that remain unknown. Missing ownership evidence is not proof that a historical link has ended or continued. This article reports no vessel position or inference about anyone’s whereabouts.
